To help educators embed the use of RM Books in their school, we are now offering free webinars every Thursday, as well as in-depth one day on-site training courses run by enthusiastic advocates for the platform.

We have also produced a number of user manuals and quick start guides to support staff.

A 30 minute webinar each Thursday at 4pm (UK time):

  • shows you the basics of how RM Books works, how to use the reading reporting functionality and how to add credit
  • gives you ideas for how you could use it to improve your students' reading, to help develop a reading for pleasure culture and to support topic and curriculum subjects
  • gives you an opporuntity to ask your questions

Training courses

Our one day on-site training courses are both informative and interactive and educators will become RM Books specialists in no time. The aims of the training are:

  • Introduction and overview of RM Books
  • Demonstration on how to login and locate titles within RM Books
  • Efficient allocation of books to students
  • Effective use of the school library within RM Books
  • Understanding the reporting feature to track progress
  • Creating Book notes to add interactivity
The cost of a one day training course is £595 + VAT.
(half-day is £300 + VAT)

Bron Duly (Educational Specialist for RM Books)

Bron Duly is the Lead Advocate and Educational Specialist for RM Books and has been working with schools across the UK helping them to embed ebooks. Coming from a teaching background, she has always been passionate about engaging students in reading, as well as enabling the use of technology to affect whole school improvement. She worked closely with the National Literacy Trust on a study which proved that using ebooks increases boys’ reading progress and makes them keener and more confident readers. Integrating technology with reading is definitely having an impact and she hopes to enthuse teachers and learners alike as to its benefits. 

Bron has been involved in facilitating RM Books training courses for the last two years. Her session is very much hands-on and by the end of the training, teachers have the ability to locate titles and successfully allocate them to their students. They can also annotate ebooks and share this interactivity with students and fellow teachers alike. She can tailor courses to a schools individual needs and literacy challenges. She has produced a range of curriculum focused book lists which help point educators in the right direction regarding the excellent content that is available on RM Books.

Bev Humphrey (Literacy and Technology Consultant)

Bev Humphrey is now a Literacy and Technology Consultant after spending 10 years as a school librarian, additionally fulfilling the role of learning gateway coordinator for two years. She worked in an all boys secondary school in South East London and during this time developed a passion for encouraging her students to read and write for pleasure, often using online media to do so. She was given a Reading Hero Award by the Literacy Trust at the end of the National Year of Reading for her work during the year and her international collaborative writing project, the Write Path was shortlisted for a Times Educational Supplement New Literacy Initiative Award in 2009 and has twice been shortlisted for a Lemos and Crane Literacy Award. Bev also worked with the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust as a Lead Practitioner for literacy.

For the past 6 years Bev has been self employed and runs her own training courses on using social media in schools, use of ebooks, literacy teaching using ipads, digital storytelling and many other topics as well as being an Accelerated Reader Consultant, running training days on the programme. She also works closely with authors and publishers. She still runs the Write Path each year and enjoys working with learners all over the world of differing abilities during each event. For the last year Bev has fulfilled the role of Editor of ICT@SLA, the technology section of the School Librarian magazine. A self-confessed geek, Bev lives much of her life online and loves using exciting new technology as a motivator for young people’s learning.
